Journal of Applied Econometrics

The Journal of Applied Econometrics has, once again, generously offered their support towards the 2011 African Econometric Society Conference held this year in Nairobi, Kenya at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies. Their sponsorship includes participation costs for African researchers who are 30 years of age or younger who have had abstracts accepted for the conference. The financial support includes contribution towards airfare, registration fee and accommodation costs for successful applicants.

It is important to note that those who have applied for this funding, once notified by the conference organizers, should register for the conference through the online registration page. Details relating to flight and accommodation arrangements will be communicated to successful applicants.

The Econometric Society has generously offered to support young economists intending to present research papers in the forthcoming African Econometric Society Conference scheduled to take place at the Kenya School of Monetary studies, Nairobi, Kenya, from 13th to 15th July 2011. The support involving young economists will cover airfare, registration fees and accommodation expenses.

The conference organizers have already received several abstracts from potential beneficiaries / young economists. Once the abstracts are evaluated, successful applicants will be required to register for the conference through the online registration page. Details relating to flight and accommodation arrangements will be communicated to successful applicants.

The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), established in 1988, is a public not-for-profit organization devoted to the advancement of economic policy research and training. AERC's mission is to strengthen local capacity for conducting independent, rigorous inquiry into the problems facing the management of economies in sub-Saharan Africa.

The AERC is partnering with the AES and KSMS by sponsoring a few economists from African countries to participate in the AES 2011 conference through issuance of small grants to carter for travel, accommodation and registration. The AERC will select from the pool of applicants who requested for grants from the AES. Researchers whose papers have been accepted for presentation and had applied earlier for grants will be among those to be considered.
