 Journal of Applied Econometrics
The Journal of Applied Econometrics has, once again, generously offered their support towards the 2008 African Econometric Society Conference held this year in Pretoria, South Africa, at the University of Pretoria. In addition to general support of the conference, their sponsorship includes participation costs for 3 to 5 African researchers who are 30 years of age or younger who have had abstracts accepted for the conference. Eligible participants who wish to apply for this competitive funding must do so by emailing their application to: Professor Steven F Koch (steve.koch@up.ac.za) The application should provide a paper title and confirmation that the abstract has been accepted for the 2008 AES Conference to be held in Pretoria from 9-11 July. It should also provide a budget for participation including airfare, registration fee and accommodation costs. It is important to note that those who wish to apply for this funding need to register for the conference through the online registration page. In addition, the participant must book accommodation and flight arrangements on their own. Successful applicants for a JAE award will be reimbursed directly by the conference organisers at the conference. 
African Economic Research Consortium
The African Economic Research Consortium has generously offered to sponsor participation costs for up to 10 members of the AERC network, who have had their abstracts accepted for the conference. Standard BankThe African Econometric Society would like to acknowledge Standard Bank’s generous contribution towards the 2008 Annual Conference in Pretoria. Their generous contribution includes the conference dinner, and will help the conference organizers to cover additional logistic expenses.  Economic Research Southern Africa (ERSA)The African Econometric Society would like to acknowledge Economic Research Southern Africa’s willingness to contribute towards the AES 2008 in Pretoria. Economic Research Southern Africa, a research programme funded by the National Treasury of South Africa and hosted at the University of Cape Town in the School of Economics will sponsor the ERSA lecture at the conference.  National TreasuryThe African Econometric Society would like to acknowledge National Treasury’s willingness to contribute towards the AES 2008 Annual Conference. Their generous contribution has enabled the conference organizers to fund travel and accommodation costs for one of our keynote speakers.  Department of Economics, Unversity of PretoriaThe Department of Economics and the South African Reserve Bank Chair in Monetary Economics at the University of Pretoria have provided generous financial and human resources support towards the 2008 Annual Conference of the African Econometric Society, which is being held at the university this year during the University of Pretoria’s Centenary.
